The Assassin’s Blade – Sarah J. Maas

Hello bookish friends,

The Assassin’s Blade was such a good collection of novella’s and I can’t believe I have waited until now to read them. Since Kingdom of Ash was released I had a desire to delve back into Sarah J. Maas’s world again but I was also scared about the length of her books. Picking up Assassins Blade was the perfect in-between as it was short enough to read without feeling overwhelmed but it was also perfect to hook me back onto the main storyline. I loved the novella’s and the relationships Celaena had with the characters before the main series. It also leads on perfectly to Empire of Storms as some of the characters mentioned are within the next few books.

I listened to the audio version of this book as I had long bus journeys to take and this filled the time as I get travel sick when I read a physical book on the bus. However, by the last 100 pages, I had to pick up my copy of the physical book because I had to know how the story ended even with knowing what happened in the end. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I gave it 5 stars. I also don’t know what short story was my favourite as they all interlinked so well.

This certainly fulled the fire in me to continue with the throne of glass series and find out what happens next, even though I’m apprehensive to read Tower Of Dawn. I am certainly going to read Empire of Storms then Tower Of dawn. Then I can finally be ready for Kingdom of Ash.

as always, happy reading
