Book haul for halloween

Hello, bookish friends

I finished a book while I was at work and still had some extra time for my lunch break so I decided to pick up a few new books to read. After reading Nevermoor I was really in a spooky, witchy, magical mood so I decided to head to the children’s section and pick up a few halloweeny reads. The first one Being Amela Fang and the Barbaric Ball by Laura Ellen Anderson. I have started reading this book and it is so cute and full of everything spooky. It is the perfect childrens read for Halloween.

Next, I picked up Wizards of Once by Cressida Cowell which looks so good! we recently got a new book in the series into my bookstore so I felt the need to pick up the first one to see if I like it.

The Last Chance Hotel by Nicki Thornton is the Waterstones children’s book of the month for October so I found it fitting to pick it up and read it. My analysis of the book is a magical Cluedo for kids as it is a magical murder mystery. I enjoyed it and again it is perfect for October

The last one I picked up Is the second book in the Shiverton Hall series by Emerald Fennell. I read the first one while studying to do my masters at the beginning of this year and I really liked the concept behind the story. I thought this would be the perfect opportunity to pick this up.

All of these are children’s books, however, if you are like me and like all things spooky they would be perfect lighter reads for your bookshelves. Updates will be coming soon about my thoughts.

as always, happy reading

Korie xx
