The Sun and Her Flowers – Rupi Kaur

Hello Bookish friends,

Rupi Kaur has fast become one of my favourite poets, however, The Sun and Her Flowers did not hold the same gripping nature for me that Milk and Honey had.

Milk and Honey is one of my favourite books that I have read this year. I even went to the extent of sticky tabbing the most meaningful poems to me which I very rarely do. Although I had hyped Rupi’s next anthology up in my head so much that when it came to reading it I was slightly disappointed.

It was still a spectacular read but it didn’t hold my attention as much as I thought it would. The praise is certainly well deserved for this book though and I still gave it 4 stars. The line drawings are beautifully juxtaposed with the simple poetry and they give the book a wonderful look and detail which it wouldn’t normally have.

I would reccomend this book to anyone that likes Milk and Honey or if they are interested in the cultural side of the poets life.

As always, happy reading  xxxx
