Hello bookish friends,
I finally got round to reading The Lovely Bones as it had been sitting on my shelf for about 4 years and it was spectacular.
I absolutely loved this book. It has been on my shelf for the longest time and I have always avoided picking it up for one reason or another. However, I realised that I could get the audiobook from the library and that is when I decided I would read it.
I am so glad I picked it up as even though the audiobook was a long listen I became so invested in the story and what happened within this world that I couldn’t stop listening. Alice Sebold certainly has made this story so good.
The audio narration was a little odd, I could hear the mouth movements and breaths within the words and that sometimes was offputting. despite this, I did like the narration and it was really engaging when I turned the speed of the narration up to 1.3
This has been one of my favourite reads this year and I am so so glad I picked it up and decided to finally listen to this book.
I would suggest anyone who likes a bit of mystery and magical realism/fantasy to pick this book up. It certainly is a great read. I rated it 5 stars.
as always, happy reading xxx
