Hello bookish friends,
At first, it took me a little while to get into the story of little liar, but then when I knuckled down and actually forced myself to read this in between doing work for my dissertation I enjoyed it. The chapters are quite short and the text is a nice easy size to read so overall it was good just to read in short bursts.
The plot is okay, going into this I was really excited, however, I then realised that I couldn’t trust anything the main protagonist was saying or doing throughout the whole novel (even though it was her telling the truth or her story) so that put me off a little. I didn’t like to guess what was truth and what wasn’t. Although after I got about 80 pages into the book I got better at just reading the story and not over analysing everything.
This book only got a 3 star from me on goodreads because overall it was a good book. It just didn’t have the wow factor for me. I have read a lot of YA books with a similar writing style and themes. This is why I probably gave it a middle rating.
However It was an interesting read overall, just not for me as much as I thought it would be.
As always, happy reading xxx
