Book Haul August 2018

Hello bookish friends,

I had a really good day today and I wanted to share the books I managed to pick up at my local second-hand bookstore. I normally have a wander into that particular bookstore every week or so to see if they have any new books on their shelves. However for the last month I have been on a book buying ban, this caused me to still wander into the store but I made a note of everything I wanted to pick up. Walking in there today was a dream as all the books I picked up were only £1.50 or less and I felt so happy with spending so little on amazing books. I also liked that all the proceeds go to good causes within my bookstore. I have reasons for picking up all of these books (even if I did pick up a few more in the shop then I did put them back before buying these) I deemed these worthy of a place on my bookshelves.

Starting from Patrick Ness, I have recently got back into his writing as I read A Monster Calls a little while ago and that has quickly become one of my favourite books. I decided to grow my collection and pick up one of his longer books as it was in really good condition at the bookstore. I cannot wait to fall into this book and the world that ness creates.

Grimm Tales by Philip Pullman joins onto the penguin classic collection that I am building with the coloured spines. I also love dark tales at the moment as it intrigues me so much. This was the perfect purchase for me and It will join all the others on my shelves once I read it.

Milk and Honey was a book that I have wanted to pick up for the longest time and I have heard so many good things about it, however, I have always been apprehensive as I don’t really enjoy poetry as much as I would like to. I have already read this book (the day that I bought it) I read it in one sitting and it is phenomenal. My review of this book should be up before this blog post so If you want to find out more then you can find it easily on my blog.

The other two books are the last in this haul and they are the other two books that I did not own from the grisha trilogy. I am so excited that I managed to get the matching paperback editions of these books. I have not read the first one in the series yet but I am planning on reading it soon. These covers just look so good together. I cannot wait to read the series!

I now have the complete Grisha trilogy and they are beautiful.

As always, happy reading xxxx
