Hello, Bookish Friends
I feel like for once my life has turned a corner into something good. I don’t know the exact details of how I will make everything work but I know there is no point in not trying. For the longest time, I have dreamed of working in a bookstore or going into publishing and now that dream has come to fruition. I had a splendid interview with Waterstones and I have been accepted for a role there.
I am so excited to begin my life away from university and stand on my own two feet. Even just for a little while selling books and being a part of the atmosphere will be great. It’s one step closer to doing something I love. I started on the 1st of September so it gives me time to finish my masters and get that out of the way. It also gives me something to look forward to.
There has been a lot going on in my life int he past few months and for once I feel like I can finally breathe. I have got no one to lean on apart from myself (bar friends), I am accountable for all of my actions and making my life the best it can be. Its taken a few weeks to process this and realise that this is where I want to be in my life. It’s just by chance that I was even offered this job as I had sent in my application quite a while ago. It just proves that good things can come when you least expect it.
I’m sure I’ll update you in the coming weeks on how I find the bookselling experience.
As always, Happy Reading.
