Hello, Bookish Friends,
Challenge six of the readathon came around very quickly as I realised I was running out of time to read books. My challenge was to:
6/ Read a book with a beautiful spine.
The Disappearances – Emily Bain Murphy (I have had this on my shelf for a long while and hopefully this will encourage me to pick it up)
I was going to pick The Disappearances for my challenge of a beautiful spine. However I looked at my shelves the other night and really fancied a bit of comfort reading. This came down to the Illustrated editions of Harry Potter. I only had one left on my TBR and something compelled me to read it. All of the illustrated editions are so beautiful and I cannot get enough of them. I perposefully haddnt looked at many of the illustrations inside this edition because I wanted their beauty to be a secret for when I finally read it.
The spine is not the best spine in the world but I still think it is beautiful. Expecially without the dust Jacket. I love the purple hardcover, I flew through this book and It was such a joy to read as I had experienced the text many times before. The illustrations made it such a different experience though, Jim Kay is one oof my favourite illustrators and I cannot get enough of his work.
It was a gorgeous read and I felt so happy to be reading it again, the story is certainly one I needed and It also fit in well to the readathon as i could read it pretty quickly.
I gave this book 5 stars, I just love the Harry Potter series too much to not give it 5 stars.
As Always, Happy Reading
