Mr. Hoppy is in love with Mrs. Silver, but her heart belongs to Alfie, her pet tortoise. Mr. Hoppy is too shy to approach Mrs. Silver, until one day he comes up with a brilliant idea to win her heart. If Mr. Hoppy’s plan works, Mrs. Silver will certainly fall in love with him. But it’s going to take one hundred and forty tortoises, an ancient spell, and a little bit of magic.
Esio Trot is a book I remember from my childhood and since visiting the Roald Dahl Museum in Great Missenden I have wanted to pick it up again.
The Roald Dahl Museum < blog post about my trip
I found my copy of it from my local charity bookshop and had to pick it up.
I always pick up Roald Dahl books with a smile on my face because I know what I am expecting with his Humour and Macabre nature.
This book was no exception as I read it very quickly and it made me smile, it was such a cute little story even though reading it again I realise its bad to base a relationship on lies. This book is great for a younger reader as it is so short and even as an adult I am happy it exists. It is always a Roald Dahl book I overlook or forget about.
Overall I am very happy that I read this book and it is another book to add to my collection. I hope that one day I can collect all the Roald Dahl books again.
